The Interview



Here are some common interview questions to look over. I have gathered these from many other blogs and my own interview preparation. However, keep in mind these are just some of the questions and may not all be part of the interview. Depending on the interviewer they may have to questions worded differently.

First college program questions

  1. Why do you want to work with Disney?
  2. Why do you want to participate in the program?
  3. What does it mean to you to be a Disney Cast Member?
  4. What makes you a good candidate for DCP?
  5. What can you offer the Company?
  6. Do you mind working outside in the Florida heat or inside in cold air conditioning?
  7. Do you mind working and living far away from home?
  8. What does Disney mean to you?
  9. Have you been to Disney World? What did you like about it? What’s your favorite memory there and why? Describe a magic moment you’ve had in the Disney parks.
  10. Are you familiar with the Disney parks and other parks in the area?
  11. What does being in Florida mean to you?
  12. Do you think it would be a big adjustment to move this far from home?
  13. Share an experience you’ve had with excellent guest service.
  14. What do you want to get out of this internship?
  15. Why did you choose to apply to this internship at this moment in your college career?
  16. How do you think the program will help you professionally?
  17. Rank your top three-five roles. Why?
  18. Would you be open to working _____ role?
  19. At which park or resort would you prefer to work? (Tip: take a look at the location’s hours, attractions, restaurants, shops, etc. before you make your selection.)
  20. What would you do if you were working an attraction and a guest was too short to ride?
  21. What would you do if you were working merchandise and the store didn’t have the specific Tinkerbell shirt a girl was looking for?
  22. What would you do if your apartment roommates weren’t cleaning up after themselves?
  23. How do you feel about living with 1-7 roommates?
  24. What part of the housing situation are you most looking forward to?
  25. What do you think would be the worst part about the Disney-provided housing and why?
  26. What would you do if a roommate wouldn’t cooperate with your sleep schedule?
  27. Would you rather work in a slow or fast-paced environment?
  28. Previous work experience?
  29. If you’ve had a job before, what did you like and dislike about it?
  30. Would you rather work independently or in a group setting?
  31. Talk about an experience you’ve had with good customer service.
  32. Have you ever had to give a presentation for a lot of people, especially with the use of a microphone? How did you feel doing so?
  33. Let’s say you were selling pretzels that cost $1.50 each. A guest wants to buy three and gives you a $10 bill. How much change do you give them?
  34. (BBB) What would you do if you were working at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and had a timid princess who wasn’t very receptive to getting her hair and makeup done?
  35. If you were working merchandise or QSFB and you had a guest in front of you while the phone is ringing, what would you do?
  36. In what ways would you provide excellent guest service?
  37. Name 3 positive qualities about yourself.
  38. What are some words your employer, coworker, or professor would use to describe you?
  39. Describe a situation where you had to work with a difficult person. (Boss, coworker, professor, customer, etc.)
  40. How would you handle an emergency at the parks?
  41. What are you most looking forward to in the program?
  42. Have you ever handled money?
  43. How would you greet /interact with guests?
  44. How would you manage getting tasks completed while being interrupted by guests, etc?
  45. How would you feel about working outdoors?
  46. Do you prefer to work as a team or individually?
  47. At what pace do you prefer to work?
  48. How would you handle a guest who needs help but doesn't speak your language?
  49. Describe a time at your previous job in which you made someone happy.
  50. (Photopass) What experience do you have working with cameras?
  51. (Photopass) Do you own a camera and what kinds?
  52. (Photopass) Would I be good to carry up to 10 pounds of equipment for up to 8-10 hours?
  53. (Attractions) Have you ever had to memorize a presentation and then deliver it in front of a group of people?
  54. (Attractions) What experience have you had speaking in front of crowds? Are you comfortable doing so?
  55. (Attractions) What would you do if you messed up your spiel
  56. (Main Gate/Transportation) How would you maintain the magic in main gate operations?
  57. (MG/T) Why do you think transportation is so important at Disney?
  58. (Hospitality/Concierge) What would you do if you were working the front desk and a guest wanted a specific type of room but none were available?
  59. (H/C) How comfortable would you be being trained on and working with a computer reservation system?
  60. (H/C) How would you make a guest feel special as they are just starting their Disney vacation?
  61. (H/C) What do you think the duties of a concierge are?
  62. (H/C) How are you experienced for this role?
  63. (Character Attendant ) What would you do if a child being rough with the character?
  64. (Character Attendant) What does character integrity mean to you?
  65. (Character Attendant) What would you do if a child was afraid of a character?
  66. (Merchandise)  If a package of chips comes at $1.50 each, and a guest wants 3, and gives you $10, how much change do you give back?
  67. (Merchandise) Give an example of when you've had to multitask
  68. (Merchandise) What would you do if someone wanted an item, and the shop was out of it?
  69. (Merchandise) What would you do if a guest wanted a specific item that you did not carry anywhere in your park?
  70. (Merchandise) Can you stock and understand product stocking?
  71. (Merchandise) How do you convince people to purchase a product in your store?
  72. (Merchandise) Have you ever had to meet quotas before?
  73. (Merchandise) You will have to be able to pin trade with customers, will you be comfortable with children touching your lanyard and asking to trade?
  74. (Merchandise) If your phone is ringing, you are checking a person out, and someone in the store needs help with an item… what do you do first, second, and last?
  75. (Custodial) Have you ever had experience cleaning?
  76. (Custodial) Are you allergic to any chemicals, cleaning supplies, or latex?
  77. (Custodial) Can you handle talking to multiple people and multi-tasking?
  78. (Custodial) Can you carry up to 50 lbs?
  79. (Custodial) Can you handle working outside for up to 8 hours a day?

If you are planning on doing another college program, you may get asked some of the questions above again, but you may be asked different questions. Here is some questions you may get.

Alumni questions for second time or beyond

  1. What you liked about the job that you previously had, if applying for the same role?
  2. How did you dell with your roommate conflicts?
  3. Why do you went to come back?
